Navigating the Challenges of Adolescence Together

Middle school and high school are tough enough without the added weight of mental health struggles. If your teen is feeling sad and withdrawn, they may be experiencing depression. Signs such as irritability or anger can also indicate underlying issues. Is your child finding tests or social situations overwhelming, causing them distress? They might be facing anxiety. The good news is that these feelings don't have to persist.

I am Bethany Raab, a dedicated therapist specializing in helping young individuals aged 12 to 25 overcome anxiety and depression. With 18 years of experience in adolescent therapy, I offer tailored individual therapy sessions focusing on unique challenges, including relationship complexities and sexual behavior. My expertise covers childhood and adolescent development, sexual health, suicide assessment, and intervention. I'm committed to empowering teens to regain confidence and joy, guiding them towards a fulfilling life through understanding, embracing their thoughts and feelings, and committing to personal values and actions.

What I offer:

  • Grief therapy tailored for young individuals navigating the challenges of loss,
  • Therapeutic support for teens and young adults focused on navigating the challenges of dating (excluding couples therapy)
  • Compassionate guidance on fostering healthy relationships and understanding sexual health and boundaries for adolescents and their families
  • Support for youth who have faced challenges such as sexual abuse, domestic violence, divorced and blended families, and more
  • Specialized assistance for youth experiencing suicidal thoughts and ideation, utilizing the Collaborative Assessment & Management of Suicidality (CAMS) and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)
  • Intensive support for clients recently discharged from inpatient or intensive outpatient programs.

My unique skills and ability to address the intersection of legal concerns and mental health issues provide my clients with both therapeutic support and effective advocacy. I foster a nurturing environment that promotes exploration and growth, marked by my unwavering commitment to support and empathetic understanding.

My Training:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
  • Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction
  • Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
  • Offense Specific Therapy
  • Solution Focused Brief Therapy

  • Currently completing training in CBT for Insomnia and Internal Family Systems (IFS)

My team and I participate in ongoing training to ensure therapy is delivered with cultural sensitivity, actively acknowledging and addressing the impacts of racism, ableism, and other forms of oppression and marginalization.
